health and safety

A Reece is a term that that is used in media production in the United Kingdom. It refers to a visit to a location to work out its suitability and safety for a shoot, could be a film or photography shoot. it includes access and an assessment of any potential issues. It also points gives information of where it is, who you are, how to contact you and who you are with in case there is an issue. We may use this in the course if we are required to go out on shoots.

An adult talent agreement is a legal document signed by the model of a photograph. it gives permission to publish the photograph. It allows the signers to give agree to their rights of where the photograph can be published and it is also something that they sign to guarantee payment. It is not needed for most photograph public releases because of the freedom of speech right. It is not required for the news, or a public page. This will be used in media for interviewing or photographing people.

A risk assessment is used to explain any dangers that may be encountered on any shoot, it will cover what a risk is, how to sustain from the risk happening and what to do if the risk does happen. Risk assessments are used for everything in media even for models on a shoot and using equipment. Again, we will use these when doing shoots or using specialized equipment.

The minor talent release is the same as the adult, it is used for the same reasons but as well as the child's permission it also requires a parents permission for the child's images to be released to the public. It also requires a witnesses name and signature for more legal support. This will be used in the course if we are photographing people under the age of 18.
