We did this task to see the difference between quality in vector and bitmap graphics to see why vectors are used in the design industry. Bitmap images are made up from pixels whereas vectors are made of shapes which is why they dont lose quality when enlarged.We still use bitmap images as they look real and not like a cartoon..
